Last year I knew I would be losing weight because of my surgery so I didn't make a goal to lose weight. Now I'm down 80 pounds. Yes, it's been a terrific year. But I do have 20 more pounds to lose. And it ain't gonna be easy. So that, my friends, is my first goal for 2013.
Lose 20 pounds
My only goal I had for 2012 you may think odd. It was to use my grocery bags more. You know, the one we carry around in our car and NEVER remember to take into the store with us. Well, my goal was to use them MORE. Not a set amount or 100% improvement, just to use them more. I am happy to say I achieved that goal. I would say I used them half the time. And I'm proud of that achievement. I am finding myself using them more and more and it makes me happy that I am.
My 2nd goal for 2013....here it goes. Once it's in writing it means it's real, huh? Gee, I don't know if I really am ready but I need to do this so here it goes.
Run a 10 minute mile
It's been on my list of 50 Things since i first wrote it. At the time it was such a dream. Now I've lost 80 pounds, feeling better than ever and this goal is actually attainable. So I'm gonna do it. That means to schedule some runs. This is going to be difficult because of our financial situation at the moment but I will have to search out the ones that are the cheapest.
And I have one more goal.
Attend the temple twice monthly
The month of December I decided my gift to my Heavenly Father and my Savior would be to attend the temple every week in December. I did. And it was amazing. I'm grateful for that experience. I had to rearrange things, sacrifice lunches with friends, but I did it. I learned a lot from doing so and I felt a measure of the spirit in a way I hadn't before.
I hope you all have a great 2013.

Congrats on the 80 pounds! I wish I still lived there, and we could start running together. I would love to get to a 10 minute mile. Best wishes for a great 2013!
Sounds extremely doable! I don;t know about a ten minute mile.... but I can run a 5K with you by the end of the year!
I would love to join you for a 5k. Seriously, running a 10-minute-mile is a goal of mine too.
I would also like to meet up at the temple a few times this year. :)
Good for you! I love your goals and I have to say if I can fun a mile in 10 (and actually did it in 9:20) I know you will do even better. I love your gift to the Savior...I think that is a goal I need to revisit. Happy 2013
or RUN a mile.....I should spell check before I publish these things....
