random thoughts

Hi blogging friends,

I've been taking a break from the blogging world. So I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on your posts. I will return to that eventually.

Here are some thoughts of mine for today:

I love art. Today we had our stake women's conference and I loved it. Walter Rane, an artist that has done numerous paintings depicting gospel stories came and spoke. It was beautiful.

The mountains speak to my soul. For some they feel it when at the beach and hear the ocean. For others it's the rushing of a river. Maybe yours is a crystal clear blue lake. I believe that we find solace in nature. I believe that everyone connects to some part of nature. For me it's the mountains.

I don't want to have to apologize for my children not being perfect. They make mistakes just like any adult does. So if you have something to say about what they have done or said then just say it. My children are good kids.

I love the two YCL's that I met on Thursday night. I wish the others would have been there too.

I don't want to have this get together at my house tonight. I hope that Makenzie appreciates me someday for it.

I don't really care that my house is a mess. Will 6 teenagers care?

I hope I can to go a movie tonight after we drop the kids off at the dance.

I totally agree with spiritually connecting through nature...I love mountains, but ones with Aspen trees that I can hear the wind blow through. Aspen trees in the Fall are the best!

What crazy person is wanting an apology from you for kids being kids? Excuse my French but, screw 'em!

I like hearing what's on your mind. So many different, random things. I love that our minds work that way.

i agree with you, i love the mountains as well...especially where you can hike in and find a nice lake to relax by.
And as far as your kids, I think that MaKenzie wanted to have the get together at your house before the dance shows how much she wants you to be a part of her life!...that's great.

I love the randomness of this post. I can't gauge your mood at all...

You are super cool-aid mom on the block for having that party. Not only will she appreciate it, but it will have rewards down the line as you know who her friends are and have a relationship with the ward posse. I'm so grateful there is a group who thinks dances are cool. I hope it lasts for years to come!!! I'll take some turns hosting and driving now that I've got an eligible dance-attendee. The pre-dance parties are genius. It helps them feel extra secure entering what can be a weird experience. You're a good sport, lady! Did you see a movie?

Everyone has to take a break from bloggin once in awhile but we've missed you!

What is YCL and what kind of party did you throw? I'm sure that your darling daughter will appreciate it and I don't think that teens will care if you're house is messy!

LOVE the mountains, too. There are no perfect kids out there and every parent/adult needs to remember that. Your girls are great.

Did you get to your movie??

I remember what I was going to say in response to the other blog. Safe Friday. Our stake, well a few parents in our stake in MD started a safe Friday night where a Friday out of the month the parents would take turns letting the kids hang out at their house. Some had activities planned, others not. But there was a place the kids knew they could go once a month.
